It all started over 80 years ago, in 1940. Two brothers, Roy and Glen Martin, founded Martin Bros. out of a garage with a modest investment and a whole lot of heart and hard work. Their philosophy was to do everything they could to help customers and to treat everyone the way they themselves wanted to be treated, a philosophy that became known as Martin Bros. Over the years, Martin Bros. grew into an independent, full-line food service wholesale supplier serving clients throughout the Midwest and beyond, offering restaurants, schools, senior living facilities and various other businesses and organizations everything they needed for their food service operations.

As time went on, the leadership of Martin Bros. transitioned to John Martin, who implemented a philosophy of “Foodservice with a Difference” throughout the organization.

What is Foodservice with a Difference? It is the most knowledgeable professionals in the industry delivering the products and tools our customers need to succeed. It is taking the time to truly understand customers’ unique needs and going out of our way to help in any way we can.

Our current leadership is third-generation Martins – COO Brooks Martin and CFO Jeff Martin. We make decisions locally and are invested in our experienced employees, cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.

Backed by our strong relationships with manufacturers, vendor partners and UniPro – an organization with a purchasing power of nearly $70 Billion – we are able to achieve things that are normally reserved for larger corporate food suppliers.

We take great pride in the technology we have adopted and created over the years. Some of our newest technological innovations include Safe Check – a digital program to determine and track cleaning procedures, Mpower Recipes – a tool to manage everything from inventory to production costs and nutritional information – and Mpower Menus – a menu system specifically developed for senior living facilities.
