The government requires that all schools have a wellness policy that includes plans for their foodservice offerings. Wellness Workshop can be accessed through the Martin Bros. website and provides information to assist with this policy and with making wellness an important part of your foodservice program.

Martin Bros. organizes convenient opportunities for educational school foodservice seminars, which keep your staff members informed about industry standards, legislative mandates, new products and serving ideas, and ways to remain a positive influence in students’ lives. Programs are held in various geographical locations for your convenience, including, webinars, Martin Bros. August Back-To-School events and the annual Martin Bros. Food Show.

School Nutrition Guide
As the school year approaches, Martin Bros. compiles a yearly School Nutrition Guide that is available online or from your sales representative. This guide includes every school foodservice product that we stock, including new items, along with nutrition facts for each product. These guides allow you to plan out your yearly school menus based on a healthy diet pattern.
Schools and Marketing Dietitian
Martin Bros. has eight registered dietitians on staff, of those eight one is dedicated to our school customers. Renee Greiner, RD, LD, is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Food and Nutrition/Dietetics. She is a registered dietitian with Martin Bros. as a Schools and Marketing Dietitian. At Martin Bros, Renee markets and develops customer relationships, plans educational events, and resources for schools and healthcare. Renee's previous work experiences include a food and nutrition supervisor and clinical dietitian at a local hospital. There she developed the patient and family room service, cafeteria and catering food services. She is a current member of the Academy on Nutrition and Dietetics, the School Nutrition practice group, and Iowa Consulting Dietitians. She serves as the Industry Rep for the School Nutrition Association of Iowa's Board of Directors.
Martin Bros. is a fully compliant HACCP facility, and our HACCP program is one of the most successful in the country. Our last annual HACCP and sanitation audits were on August 2, 2013, and we were awarded an “Excellent” rating.
Martin Bros. fill rate for our school customers is 99.4% before substitutions.

Martin Bros. is honored to be the approved supplier of branded high-quality food and janitorial products at a great price to over 350 schools in a number of regional K-12 purchasing cooperatives. We are the approved food, equipment small wares, janitorial/sanitation and ware washing distributor of the Iowa Association for Educational Purchasing (IAEP). In addition, we are an approved distributor to the Minnesota School Food Buying Group (MSFBG) and the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA). All of these organizations allow schools to take advantage of aggressive pricing based on the purchasing volume of many schools.
Martin Bros. is also a member of the School Nutrition Association, the School Nutrition Association of Iowa, the Minnesota School Nutrition Association and the Illinois School Nutrition Association, working to lead school foodservice programs into a successful future.
