Martin Bros. Celebrates 75 Years in Business

Martin Bros. Distributing Co., Inc. is celebrating 75 years in the foodservice distribution business. Founded in 1940 by Roy and Glen Martin, the company is now in its third generation of family business leadership.

“It’s an honor to have been in the Cedar Valley for 75 years now. We take so much pride in our roots here and in our heritage as a family-owned business,” said Brooks Martin, President and Chief Operating Officer.

Originally named Martin Bros. Paper Company, the first Martin Bros. warehouse was Roy and Glen’s father’s garage until they relocated to downtown Cedar Falls in 1946 and to the Cedar Falls Industrial Park in 1969. John Martin took over the business in 1988, bringing a marketing focus and expansion to Martin Bros. that gained recognition throughout the industry.

Brooks Martin and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Martin now lead Martin Bros.’ continued growth in eight states as one of the leading independent distributors in the Midwest.
